Tuesday’s Tips: Our thoughts on Exeter and Leicester

Our three tips all come from the twilight meetings, with some good connections represented in the jumps at Exeter and on the flat at Leicester. We’ll have all you need for Chester tomorrow!

6:45 Exeter – Captain Buck’s (5/2)

Paul Nicholls’ five-year-old makes his first start of the new national hunt season, he was last seen a month ago defeating a stable rival at this track and this looks a bit more competitive. However, he looks to be a progressive type and I would fancy him to run another big race. He looks to be a real improver.

7:30 Leicester – Naval Warfare NAP (9/4)

Naval Warfare represents Andrew Balding, and should be set for a good season after ending last year with a victory. He narrowly lost out to Maths Prize on his penultimate start, a horse who may feature in pattern races, before landing the spoils at Ayr in good style. He hasn’t been seen since September, but should play a leading role.

8:15 Exeter – My Story (15/8)

Neil Mulholland’s My Story joined the yard after winning a point-to-point contest, and on his racecourse debut he could only finish fourth. He should be better than that for good connections, and I expect him to get a racecourse win soon enough.
